Manuel received his B.Sc. in Biotechnology from the University Pablo de Olavide, Sevilla (2010) and his M.Sc. in Molecular Genetic and Plan Biotechnology from the University of Seville, Sevilla (2011). He obtained his Doctorate degree in Molecular Biology and Plant Biochemistry at the Faculty of Biology from the University of Seville in colaboration with the Experimental Station of the Spanish National Research Council in Seville (Instituto de la Grasa, CSIC).
His thesis project entitled “Molecular characterization of the synthesis of fatty acids in Camelinasativa. Biotechnological Applications” was aimed at the modification of the fatty acid biosynthesis in Camelina sativa seeds in order to develop more suitable oil for the generation of environmentally friendly lubricants.
