Dorota Komar is a Ph.D. student in the laboratory of Manuel Piñeiro in the Centre for Plant Biotechnology and Genomics, U.P.M.–I.N.I.A. in Madrid. Her research focuses on the role of chromatin proteins involved in the repression of flowering in Arabidopsis thaliana.
She graduated in Biotechnology at Interdisciplinary Faculty of Biotechnology at Warsaw University of Life Science. Her Bachelor Thesis concerned Programmed Cell Death during sex organs determination in flowering plants. In her Master Thesis she was investigating the effect of fertilization by inorganic carbon source on biomass production by Arabidopsis thaliana plants in the group of Professor Stanislaw Karpinski.
